RADPOL
S.A. - history
 |
Radpol
S.A. has been on the
market for over 30
years, originating
from the Experimental Enterprise
for Cable Industry and Electronic
Equipment or KABLOSPRZĘT established
in Ożarów Mazowiecki in 1970
with its headquarters in Człuchów.
Originally, the core business
of the company was the experimental
manufacturing of machinery
and devices for the cable industry.
In 1976 Electric Wire Plant
"EMA - ZAŁOM", Szczecin became
the supervisory unit of the
company.
The product portfolio
has continued
to develop since
that time. Decreasing
sales of traditional
connectors gave
way to new devices
such as electro-installation
fittings made
of aluminum and
copper as well
as cable clips
and holders.
Moreover, the
range of available
power cables
grew wider and
production of
heat-shrinkable
goods was expanded.
During this period
the company enjoyed
a boost from
the production
of new assembly
kits for the
repair of low
and medium voltage
cables.

Radpol
always showed great interest
in innovating cutting-edge
technology. The Company possesses
a 2 MeV industrial
electron accelerator,
the sole unit of its kind in
Poland using
radiation cross-linking technology.
It was then in 1983 that the
production of heat-shrinkable
goods on the using cross-linking
via electron beam started.
So far, this purchase has been
the largest and the most crucial
investment in the Company's
history.

In 1996,
pursuant to the law on National
Investment Funds and their
privatization, the State Treasury
included Radpol company shares
in National Investment Funds.
In February 2003 eighty percent
of Radpol's shares owned by
National Investment Funds were
sold to Ceramique Polska Sp.
z o.o. part of the investors'
group, Tar Heel Capital. In
December 2003 Ceramique Polska
bought up the shares of other
shareholders turning into the
single shareholder of Radpol.
As a consequence in 2004 Tar
Heel Capital R, an LLC fund
appointed by Tar Heel Capital
became the owner of Radpol.
